Peter Betts
Peter Betts
With nearly 60 years of Road Transport experience, Peter has an unsurpassed passion and commitment for Road Transport and the trucking industry in general. He is a very well-known identity across the Eastern Seaboard having driven interstate Linehaul trucks for over 30 years.
Having cut his teeth operating logging trucks in Gloucester with his father and grandfather as part of the family’s forestry operation and the in the New England along with his wife Bev, they set out to establish an interstate linehaul trucking business.
Based out of their hometown of Walcha, his unrelenting passion for trucks, along with a strong work ethic and Bev’s unrelenting drive and attention to detail, they managed to establish a successful trucking business.
Peter, continues to be involved in the business, having a daily overview of the operation. He is often seen behind the wheel of his beloved Mack, loading, or delivering cattle for our sister company, Betts Rogers Livestock around the New England area.
Chris Betts
Chris Betts
Chris was brought up around trucks and trucking, so it is no surprise to hear or see his passion for the industry. He began his road transport career driving Interstate Linehaul for his mother and father's business, Betts Transport. Although he officially started his road transport career as a driver, rumours are that he started much younger by accompanying his dad (Peter) on numerous long hauls trips, where rumour has it that he was known to sit on dad's lap to steer the rig.
In the early 2000’s Chris saw an opportunity in Sydney to establish a truck and dog operation on the back of the various infrastructure projects. After a few years of operation, he saw an opening in the more specialised area of over dimensional transport and established the very successful business in Singleton, Betts Bower, supporting the Hunter Valley mining community.
After some persuasion from his family, Chris relocated from Singleton back to his hometown of Walcha where he assisted the family in running Betts Transport. During this time, he saw yet another transport opportunity, this time in livestock transport, when he started the business, Betts Rogers Livestock. On the back of Chris’ vision and leadership this business now operates successfully across the New England and where required into the various regions across the Eastern Seaboard.
Chris is a passionate and hardworking Leader who strives to deliver efficient and effective services for his customers. His knowledge and understand of vehicle and operator capabilities, along with his intimate knowledge of routes and the vast geographical nature of Australia is instrumental in achieving great service outcomes for our customers.

Having worked here for over 20 years, I can’t imagine working anywhere else, why would I? They are just good people to work for. A family company with family values but know trucking and what drivers need.
Just a great place to work. Peter Betts knows trucks so when you talk to him about problems or concerns, he gets it. Have been here 13 years now and can’t see me moving away anytime soon. You are expected to put the work in, but you get the benefits.
Chris at Betts Rogers understands transport and trucks, which makes the job so much easier, especially if you are going to new places where B Double access is difficult. He works with you to make sure you can get in and out without issues.
When I first started, I was new to the Transport Industry, and was very nervous. As soon as I stepped in the door, I realised that there was no need to be nervous. They made me right at home and I have loved it ever since.
